Developing a good software product is hard - not because of the technical challenges, but because it involves people - and people are complex. They introduce opinions, feelings, preferences, requirements, constraints and even hidden agendas. Throughout my career, I have striven to work with, and to build teams that foster a culture of collaboration, challenge, innovation and a strong desire to 'get the job done'.I've spent the last 25 years developing software in the technology of the day, with the simple goal of 'making something easier' for the end user. While a customer might not know exactly what they want, they will know it when they see it. Contract Developer
Contract development role, building and integrating a number of internal line of business applications. Initially a 6 month contract, but extended to 15 months to work on other projects. Development was primarily C#, with an Angular UI, all deployed to the Azure cloud platform. The project made use of Azure functions, SQL Azure, Azure storage and Data Factory. Azure DevOps with ARM templates were used for reproducible application and platform build pipelines and deployments. The project teams followed a typical SCRUM methodology, implementing unit and integration tests as well as using Specflow for API and UI end to end testing. The last 4 weeks of the contract were conducted with full remote working.
