I enjoy solving problems and building solutions in both the physical and digital realms. My career began in the construction industry, where I spent my first 10 years. Raised in New Zealand, I worked in a structured, methodical environment that emphasized adherence to well-thought-out standards. In 2011, I migrated to Australia, where I found the building industry to be less stringent in maintaining these standards. This shift led me to fall out of love with the industry and sparked my interest in technology. My journey into technology began when I retrieved an old desktop PC from a skip bin and started experimenting with Linux distributions. This curiosity led me to a Proxmark3 HID card cloning device. Despite having no prior experience, I found the device’s GitHub repository, compiled its firmware from C source code, and flashed it onto the device. It wasn’t until I took Harvard’s CS50 Introduction to Computer Science course that I truly understood what I had been doing with the Proxmark3 board. Remarkably, I had some success despite my initial lack of understanding.Fast forward to today, the CS50 course taught me how to teach myself. I have an innate desire to understand the systems and technology I work with from top to bottom, from bits and bytes to the user experience. I am currently working on a full-stack IoT implementation as an intern, applying my skills in a practical, real-world setting.I am knowledgeable in C, Python, JavaScript, React, SQL, HTML, CSS, Git, Docker, Linux (Debian), and LoRaWan. I am eager to learn Go and TypeScript.Dislikes: Abstraction without understanding.
