My apprenticeship was served in the fan industry, which was mainly sheet mild steel fabrication. projects where typically lean phase conveying, de-dust and fume extract systems. Pneumatic Conveying Systems this company almost solely worked for the pharmaceutical and food industries. Their product was conveying material’s using compressors instead of fans not quite lean phase nor was it truly a dense phase system, the vast majority of the systems were constructed of 316 stainless steel vessels pipework and fittings all to the highest hygienic standards.In 2001 I moved to PZ Cussons first on contract and then on staff where I worked on projects both in the UK and abroad, due to their large portfolio the work was varied and very interesting. I could be drawing up a drying cupboard for Thailand and then designing a soap factory in Ghana, I would work with a whole range of materials from plywood, structural steel to reinforced concrete.The last 6 years have been spent in short duration contracts in the chemical, nuclear and power distribution industries. Designing application Using geometric tolerance and weld symbols with Autodesk inventor 3D design software.I hope this has been of interest.

I was responsible for producing the 3D models (Autodesk Inventor) and design proposal drawing's for the team. My primary function was to design and produce models and drawings of a Sludge Retrieval Module which consisted of three independent pumps on a mast, I generated all drawings from the start of concept design phase through to the end of the detail design. during my time on the Pile Fuel Storage Pond team i modelled the exterior pond complete with storage skips and all the ancillary equipment, DPD's of transfer pumps and lines to the next process. -

The import transfer capability comprises of 3 electrically driven underwater skip trolleys which transfer skips (up to 4 tonnes) from the outside pond to the new indoor buffer store. I was responsible for producing all the 3D models (Autodesk Inventor) for this project and all the engineering drawings from the start of concept design phase through to the end of the detail design phase. -

Actus is a joint venture company consisting of Costain, Jacobs and Amec, working for magnox the project aim was to prepare filter material for encapsulation. This was achieved by cutting the lid off the filter box with a diamond wire saw, core drill the filter frame and convey the filter material to the next phase.Working with the engineers I would produce a 3d model of the system using AutoCAD inventor and to generate 2d drawings for the client . The project was completed on time with no budget overruns, from concept to design through to product procurement in five months. Supporting the bid team for phase two of the project until being moved to the enhanced bay project. -
