Joining the Ron Hull Group in 1992 straight from school, Nigel served an ‘in house’ apprenticeship looking at all facets of the business including but not limited to marketing, accounts, sales, waste management, metals recycling, plant and machinery operations etc.In 1994 Nigel was understudy to the RHD Managing Director Tony Hurley, looking mainly at demolition and dismantling techniques, whilst estimating and pricing work. The management of projects of various types and sizes followed and Nigel was instrumental in the growing success of Ron Hull Demolition Limited. During this time, Nigel completed his 18 month steel erecting training with Birkhull Engineering.Through the ‘in-house’ training Nigel’s performance over a 4 year period was monitored by the Group Chairman and he was appointed to the Group Board as a Director in 1996. At this point Nigel moved from Demolition into Ron Hull Junior Ltd and took on the role of expanding recycling operations and was responsible for the construction of one of the largest Waste Transfer Station in the North of England.In the last 3 years, Nigel has returned to RHD and has spent a large part of this time, pricing work and re-shaping the Company’s profile and targeting new Clients, including leading the management team for the decommissioning and demolition of Roosecote Power Station for Centrica and other major projects.Nigel still has a major hand in the Waste Management side of operations, developing the business moving forward.
