HOSC is now part of Milaha group, the diving department expanded to 4 permanent diving vessels, 2 air and 2 saturation all with ROV capabilities.In order to facilitate this expansions and not have a detrimental affect on current projects a new group Diving Operations Manager has been appointed, so back to Assistant Manager looking after diving and ROV operations in Qatar.

Along with my existing role I have now been tasked with the duties of Diving Safety Officer,Role: Report to the Operations Manager,revising and updating the safety / QA aspect of allrelevant CONTRACTOR manuals, procedures etc. Make pertinent safety / QA visits to worksite locations; compile statistics, reports and recommendations, Manage Dive data recording system.

Organising and planning the daily operations for the dive staff and vessel activities to comply with the requirements under the held contracts. Assist in the evaluation and tendering of any marine project enquiry submitted to the company. Overseeing and managing any additional projects awarded and inter liaising with the clients.

Full time 28 x 28 rota I was responsible for diving safety and risk assessment auditing in accordance with all relevant operational policies whilst complying with the company, IMCA guidelines and clients requirements. I carried out safety inspections throughout the vessels and address any unsafe practices identified.

Ensuring our accomplishments comply with and meet requirements of the client and stakeholders for all diving related project. Strategically planning the policies and procedures for diving operations along with any contingency requirements for diving related activities. Controlling and monitoring budgetary issues for the department. Review and instigate the updating of policy documents in line with current directives. Ensure compliance with ISO accreditations is followed and Key Performance Indicators and Objectives are achieved. Overall management of diving associated departments to guarantee the provision of diving and ROV services in a cost-effective, safe and reliable manor.

Dive course supervision for commercial air diving, responsible for instructing students during their nine week HSE commercial diving course. I also ran other specialised courses such as Rope Access, Confined Space Working, Risk Assessment, Managing Safety, HSE First Aid at work and Fire Fighting at Sea.

I was responsible as a team leader for the crew of six which worked on an emergency appliance in the Glasgow area. I was seconded to be a Legislation Officer in 2005, undertaking building and licensing inspections, assisting businesses to conform with the Fire (Scotland ) Act 2005. I advised on safety issues and risk assessments for public and employee welfare.

My role in West Yorkshire was very similar to that described above except that I was working in the Leeds area. In addition I also spent several periods seconded to the Fire Safety College as an instructor where I instructed on basic training courses and also more advanced courses such as incident management, rope access, confined space rescue, risk assessment, legislation, Health & Safety, Hazardous chemicals, transport and casualty care .

I managed the diving contracts and coordinated the team activities providing team briefings covering all relevant safety issues. I was responsible for generating CAD site surveys and structural reports for submission to the clients. As a diver I worked on many projects undertaking tasks such as valve isolation and replacement, inspection, repair work, debris clearance and removal. I serviced and recorded the diving equipment providing a planned maintenance system.

I work as a pipe fitters mate installing commercial premises with all main service supplies. I have installed most types of pipe line systems with both thread and flanged face connections, constructed from many different materials, such as stainless steel, ABS plastic, steel and iron.

I organised the training and excursions for resort divers, I also serviced boats and all the equipment.
