Working with STEP5GROUP Limited The role is managing the delivery of Service Manager (SM) to BT, and Asset Manager (AM) to HP ES/Shell.The SM delivery included requirement specification, GAP analysis and configuration of the application, working with empowered BT resources in a Joint Application Development (JAD) environment. The solution was tested and deployed to BT within budget and timescale. Following an agreed support period, the application was fully handed over to BT. The successful deployment led to a second phase of work, deploying additional SM modules, further deployment of SM to a second BT site, and providing Web Access to BT’s customers. The AM delivery included supporting an HP Enterprise Services Manager in delivering the solution. The roles involved resource management and issue escalation within HP.

The application was the London Local Service Provider (LSP). Nigel led a Feasibility Study and Technical Proof of Concept (PoC) to integrate Health and Social Care applications. This involved leading a multidisciplined team comprising LPfIT, BT and Supplier resources. The Technical PoC was successful and Nigel led the scoping phase for the introduction of the Health and Social Care Integration into an NHS demonstrator site. Nigel produced the proposal and price model for the solution. The proposal ensured a budget of £3.5 million was obtained to industrialise the work of the Technical PoC.Nigel also led a bid to introduce an on-board ambulance solution for the London Ambulance Service (LAS). The bid involved review of the existing contractual arrangements and requirements. The review recommended an amended scope for LAS, which was defined in a Proposal with associated price model. Nigel managed stakeholders from LPfIT, LAS, BT and a Third Party Supplier in delivering the Proposal. The Proposal was used as part of major contract reset negotiations.

The application was the introduction of a Managed Output Service (MOS) for the ATLAS client. Nigel undertook a feasibility study to identify any critical risks and issues associated with introducing MOS. The recommendation was to progress the development in conjunction with a major Third Party supplier. Once agreed with the Authority Nigel then produced the high level requirement specification for the project.Nigel also undertook a number of project management responsibilities including production of a Project Initiation Document (PID), project schedule, quality log, risk and issue log. Nigel was responsible for liaising with the Third Party supplier for day to day management purposes.

The application was the London Local Service Provider (LSP) providing a standard business process model and supporting application for the NHS London cluster. Nigel undertook a review providing recommendations for improving the Requirements Management and Business Analysis Approach and successfully implemented the changes. The processes were included in the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) project being undertaken by BT LSP. Nigel also produced a number of Business Cases and Project Initiation Documents (PID), managing a contract with a service provider, and recruitment of analysis resources.Nigel undertook a quality assurance role on the design and development work undertaken by the analysis & design teams and the package suppliers.

The application was the TVL Transformation. Nigel defined the Business Analysis Approach to be undertaken by the project, defining the standards and deliverables to be produced by the analysis team for Business Process Re-engineering. The programme, Capita Operations and the BBC, approved the approach and an external audit of the programme endorsed the approach. Nigel completed an evaluation exercise of Enterprise Modelling case tools and managed the procurement of the selected case tool. Nigel provided mentoring on the use of the Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN), Requirements Gathering, Business Rules definition and Use Case production.

Managed the DWP NOL team with responsibility for the analysis team, and end to end plan, incorporating analysis, the EDS development, testing and implementation. Nigel also undertook a quality assurance role on the design and development work undertaken by the solution provider, EDS, and was the Project representative in the contractual negotiations between DWP and EDS covering both the development and the operational contracts.

Consultant to EDS working on the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) account - the application was the New Tax Credits (NTC) Gateway. Produced recommendations on the Full Lifecycle Approach to be undertaken by the project - defining the deliverables to be produced by the analysis team and the skills profiles required to complete the product set. EDS and DWP senior management accepted the recommendations. Provided training to members of the analysis team and business community on the techniques to be employed. During the NTC Gateway development, Nigel managed the analysis team. Nigel produced the use case model, and performed a consultancy role on production of the requirements catalogue. Nigel performed a quality assurance role for the analysis team, reviewing business, analysis and design products. Nigel agreed the Third Party Supplier’s development approach and stipulated and undertook the necessary quality review points. Nigel provided consultancy directly to DWP for production of an exception handling system, defining the Terms of Reference for the project and the deliverable specifications. These were agreed by senior DWP management. Nigel performed the quality assurance role for the Business representatives.
