Health and Safety Consultant offering a comprehensive range of Occupational Safety, Health, and ergonomic consultancy services, including bespoke training courses. These services are specifically provided to, but not limited to, all levels of education, through to higher education, public services, charities and a diverse range of small businesses.

I am the health and Safety specialist; project managing the health and safety framework, providing strategic direction to City, University of London. The primary focus of this project is to lead and engage City’s community in the improvement of their health and safety culture. To this end, I will deliver a number of projects for the development and planning of an efficient and effective occupational health and safety statutory compliance service.I am setting in motion the building blocks for both safety and occupational health provisions developing, and maintaining these to the highest standards with the view of handing over an improved service provision to a permanent employee who will be responsible for continuing health and safety support to City, over the long term.

As a member of the Risk Management and Audit Committee with an independent and objective understanding of the crucial mechanisms necessary to support IOSH’s organisation’s risk appetite I ensure that the internal controls and reliability of assurances on governance are in place.

As Head of Health and Safety Transition Management I am responsible for leading a process of change that involves the implementation of new safety management processes and systems, together with a new structure for the central Health and Safety Team. While doing so, I will be responsible for the ‘business as usual’ management of Health and Safety, ensuring statutory compliance and embedding a culture of health and safety, and supporting wellbeing initiatives throughout the University community.

Engaged to design and deliver a specific high level project, empowering academics and students to provide continued safety performance, compliance and improvement. Evaluating the unique high hazardous operations, imparting practical, independent, tailored Safety, Health & Environmental solutions, and embedding fundamental elements of specialist safety systems to address the creative and cutting edge technologies in research within the school of Mathematics, Computer science and Engineering within City University of London.

As the Interim Health and Safety Manager for City University London I was the lead on all aspects of Safety and Health, developing, refining and delivering the University’s overall strategy and culture on health and safety. To this aim I influenced the University’s safety and health policies and procedures, establishing a standardised Safety and Health Management system approach and set targets for continued improvements. I implemented a new safety team structure, assisted in the recruitment embedding and the allocation of resources.

Responsible for the architecture of the University’s health and safety management system, developing strategy, policy, procedures and operational plans; advising and informing the University’s executive team and reporting to the governing body and audit and risk committee. Provided a full range of health and safety leadership and operational management activities, including promoting and fostering a healthy and safe environment for teaching and research activities for the University community.
