Member of Engineering Development, Trimble FSM (formerly AtRoad, formerly BT Work Management)As Senior Software Engineer I was responsible for the analysis, development and maintenance of a wide variety of software modules on a variety of platforms. The products included both client/server and SaaS architectures. I consulted with Product Managers and end-users, writing design documents and producing technical documentation for the delivered software.The work involved development across many disciplines and skill areas, including delivering business logic, networking layers, Oracle database objects, SQL queries, UI forms and geographic mapping.As Performance Engineer I was responsible for standardised performance testing of each server release of the Taskforce product, to ensure that it would run satisfactorily on clients' hardware. In particular, I tested and tuned SQL queries to run as fast as possible. This was also a critical skill when developing queries for the Data Warehouse supporting Insight, Trimble's online analytics service.As Test Engineer I performed both manual and automated testing of software modules, writing the test sets and configuring the test tools so that repeat and regression tests could be carried out in minimal time.
