Currently Emeritus Professor of Pharmacy at Keele University UK (Head of School 2012-2018). Chairman of Denstone College, Staffordshire UK. A strong contributor to both national and international development of healthcare delivery. For 3 years (2016-19) an Assembly member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of GB. Following 26 years in the Pharmaceutical industry, chaired for 5 years the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Partnership NHS Trust board. Led the board in September 2011 through the integration of adult social care from Staffordshire County Council. During this time I also chaired the Nursing and Midwifery Council's Appointments Board.During my career I have been fortunate to live, work and to practice in 4 countries spread over 3 continents. UK, USA, Sweden and Japan.Retired from AstraZeneca in April of 2011, final position being a global Vice President of Strategic Partnering and Business Development. Prior to that held 4 other global Vice President positions within AstraZeneca. VP Global Project Development (Diabetes), VP Global Regulatory Affairs UK HUB, VP Global Regulatory Affairs Executive, VP Global Cardiovascular Regulatory Affairs. Over 35 years of global senior leadership experience within the pharmaceutical industry, academia and the NHS. Significant Non-Executive Director and Chair of Board experience, within the NHS, health related organisations and academia. I have represented the Pharmaceutical Industry within PhRMA and the ABPI. I was a member of the DIA European Advisory Board between 2004 and 2008 and awarded the DIA outstanding service award in March 2003. Fellow of the British Institute of Regulatory Affairs May 2004, Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society 2013, Fellow Royal Society of Biology 2017, granted Principal Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy 2019 and Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Management 2018.Visiting Professor at The School of Pharmacy, University College London and the Faculty of Business and Law at Staffordshire University.Now retired and enjoying cycling, many outdoor pursuits and lots of travel.
