I grew this practice from one client and no staff to the stage where we had 6 staff and I was able to sell the practice to THP Chartered Accountants in 2013. Reynolds and Company was a general practice, a life-style as opposed to a corporate practice. It had a range of clients from private landlords up to £10 million turnover corporate clients. Reynolds & Company's strength was it delivered added value services, business advice, finance advice and tax planning advice alongside compliance services.

This was a boutique broking firm, a start up funded by H Clarksons, the largest shipbrokers in the world, later acquired by Brombard Group. My role was to head up the big ticket leasing broking service. We focused on the shipping industry where we structured deals for any flag and leveraging yard finance and hi-tec start ups where we working closely with largest equity funds and arranged lease finance which leveraged grant finance.I was also responsible for Financial Services compliance.

Colegraves was a privately owned boutique financial services company that proved tax based property investment products based on IBA's and assured tenancies as well as providing a big ticket lease broking service. My role was to head up the big ticket leasing broking service. We focused on the shipping industry where we structured deals for any flag and leveraging yard finance; car hire fleets and using annual rollover of corporate tax capacity and; hi-tec start ups where we working closely with largest equity funds and arranged lease finance which leveraged grant moneys.

H Clarkson was and remains the largest independent shipbrokers in the world with subsidiaries around the world. This was my first position after leaving practice. I joined as financial accountant and very quickly was promoted to chief accountant. I was responsible for the accounts department function. My duties included preparing monthly accounts, budgeting, investment appraisals and specifying and testing the bespoke accounting system, that then ran in 16 currencies.I moved to the leasing desk in the ship Sale and Purchase department where I arranged ship leases for the company's shipowner clients

I was audit manager heading up larger audits including several in the shipping sector.
