Aptean completed the purchase of Aptos Planning and PLM October 2022.As Head of Research for Planning and PLM my focus is upon application design for the evolution of the products and to investigate cloud technologies to enrich the products to meet the customer needs.

Development Manager responsible for multiple on going projects. Focusing on providing core application modeling services and responsibility for PLM.During this role I was responsible for the design and development of the next evolution of the PLM product , working closely with other teams such as Product Managers, Business Analysts, Stakeholders, UX Designers and implementation teams.During my time at Aptos I moved to head of application research for Planning and PLM, looking at both technology and application design, again working with product management to shape the future product enhancements.Within this role the focus was on cloud technology (Azure) exploring data integration through event modeling and Data Factory, Non SQL databases and Machine Learning for forecasting and product similarity.

Compass became part of Alphameric, then Torex Retail which was then branded to be Torex.Torex became part of Micros and now Oracle.Development team leader responsible for the design, development, configuration, QA and delivery of the Merchandise Planning applications (Compass to Micros).The merchandising functional areas that I have worked on and been responsible for during this employment are:Pre-season Planning, In-season WSSI planning with OTB, Product Library, Assortment Planning, Size and Pack Optimisation, Delivery Tracking, Franchise Management and Allocation.All the application modules are developed as part of the same application object orientated architecture with a highly configurable component system that allows different customer solutions to be delivered from the same code base.The application design is a 3-tier architecture based on Microsoft technology, utilising the. net framework and c#.Within the team leader role I work closely with customers analysing their requirements and project managing their requirements along with road-map enhancements from the product managers through the development life cycle.

Part of the development team working on the creation and development of the Intactix Category Management applications. The principle of the applications was to take market data such as Nielsen data, combine this with corporate performance data and provide an interactive means of analysing the data through techniques such as consumer decisions trees as Pareto charts with KPI data. The application was multi-tiered and developed using C++.(Intactix became part of JDA)

- Member of the development team responsible for the design and development of Arthur Planning.Initially working on the DOS application but with the introduction of Microsoft Windows 3.0 I was a key member of the team responsible for the design of the Windows application.Arthur Planning was designed to fulfill the needs of Merchandise Planning, focusing upon multi-dimensional pre-season and in-season planning. The application was developed using C++ and initially as a single tier application with shared file storage, then later as a two-tier application with Essbase as the data repository. Although I worked on a broad spectrum of functionality my main area of specialisation was the design and development of the Arthur Planning calculation engine.Within the role I worked very closely with the product management and consultancy teams when analysing requirements and the strategic product direction. I presented new release features internally to other business teams and customers through user group conferences.
