Wheatstone LNG is a Chevron mega-project that spanned 8 years of construction. The project was commenced on site in Q3 2011 and is due for completion in Q1 2019. At a cost of $USD34b the project had approximately 7500 a peak on site and completed 175M manhours of construction and commissioning. Over 7.5 years I have held numerous positions at WLNG, employed initially for civil construction execution and finishing as the delivery lead for handover to the client’s operations team.Duties• Lead role project close out team, covering CSU Commissioning activities, Pre-Start Safety Review (PSSR) and final acceptance plant to Client Operations Team. • Direct reports included System Delivery Engineers with collaboration with the leads from all other aspects of the project, from Client to Subcontractor.• Oversaw all aspects (safety, quality, engineering, documentation and turnover) and disciplines (SMP, I&C, Elec and Comm’s) involved in achieving a stable operating plant safely and in accordance with the schedule.• Management of the first Turnaround/Shutdown Late Scope process for appropriate scopes of work. Responsible for construction of Civil, SMP, Electrical, Instrument, Communication works to completion.• Oversight of three major subcontractors approximately 2M man-hours of direct works.Achievements• Lead an integrated team from Chevron, Bechtel and Operations to review and sign off first LNG train within 150 days of first liquid LNG rundown, with only $10M of Carry-Through-Work. This was significantly better than the other company projects as a first Turnover deliverable.• Improved process and leveraged team and relationships to review and signoff second LNG train within 90 days of first liquid LNG rundown, with only $1M of Carry-Through-Work. Performance recognised as world class by company.• Developed and refined the procedure for documenting and transitioning of open Engineering items from the EPC to Operations technical authority.

PNGLNG is an ExxonMobil mega-project was constructed in two major sections, the upstream Southern Highlands Well Pads and Conditioning Plant and the Downstream Gas Liquefaction Plant in Port Moresby, linked by over 700km of overland and subsea pipelines. Over the 1.5 years I was at PNGLNG, my team managed to establish and develop the initial infrastructure in one of the remotest and under-developed areas of the country.Duties• Establish projects presence in the Highlands. Worked closely with Transport and Logistics along the Highlands Highway and engaged with local Landowner Companies, to develop a viable workforce from within one of the most illiterate communities in PNG. • Construction of bulk earthworks, cut, blasting and fill of 1.9Mbcm soft volcanic clays, 2.3Mbcm rock in high rainfall mountainous region.• Established workshops, camps (100, 330, 1500 man), explosive magazines, quarries and construction lay-downs, 2.5M litre fuel farm, 2 x 600m 22inch bores, waste handling facilities and other infrastructure required for the next phase of the PNGLNG project.Achievements• Assisted Client’s team in execution strategies to overcome major geotechnical issues including resubmission of the Target Cost Estimate, based on first principals developed from initial site experience and negotiation with the Client to accept the changes to the execution strategy with minimal impact.• Nominated for Clough’s national safety award of the year, for leadership during a volatile camp incursion and subsequent rapid excavation of 300 people and subsequent upgrade and fortification of the Project assets.
