Most recently, I led the rapid shift to fully online delivery in response to COVID-19. Taking a large team of classroom-based teachers on this journey was an exciting challenge! Past projects have included developing our Pathway Colleges in Hobart and Darwin, and supporting those teams in delivering innovative programs for international students. I was the lead educator / academic in our Pathways new projects team across South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

I led Laidlaw's Senior Leadership Team with Stephen Garner, Head of School Theology. Together we were responsible for leading the College through an important transition in its history. Through careful management of change, we built a more collaborative and open culture amongst the staff, developing more solution-focused engagement right across the organisation.

I served as Head of the School of Social Practice, leading Laidlaw College's undergraduate teacher and counsellor education programmes. I taught into both degrees, and was part of Laidlaw College's senior management team. As Head of School I was instrumental in shaping the management structure of the new school. A key focus for me in this role was balancing the need to maintain distinct team identity at the programme level with the need to leverage the opportunities that arose out of being one new school.

As a senior lecturer in the School of Education I taught into a number of courses within our teacher education programme. I was also a research leader, leading a project with colleagues across the College that explored the connectedness of our distance students. I also facilitated the presentation and publication of the main findings of this project with other staff. I was the staff representative on Laidlaw College's board in 2014 and contributed to increasing the transparency of our processes from the board level through to management and staff.

I taught as a lecturer in the School of Education from July 2012. My teaching responsibilities included Curriculum Development, Health & PE, Teaching Technology and Ways of Knowing. My research areas of interest include the dynamics of blended learning, technology and pedagogical change, empowerment and meaning in the workplace and relational epistemology.

I taught Theory of Knowledge, Psychology, History and Social Studies at Kristin School from 2002. In 2006 I left to work at the British School Manila, and returned to Kristin part time alongside my research management role at AUT University in 2010. Alongside my teaching responsibilities, I led several action research projects focusing on improving pedagogy using surveys, focus groups and/or discursive methods.

I coordinated the NZ branch of the World Internet Project (www.worldinternetproject.net). This involved designing and implementing online and telephone surveys, and analysing and disseminating the findings via print and online publications as well as public meetings and radio/tv interviews. Significant funding and policy development interactions with government agencies were also part of my role.
