Took up the role to run a large region of South London convenience stores - including some of the highest sales per foot units in the company - after the demise of Woolies. Led the team to some strong results (eg best % profit growth on the estate) through good engagement (87% CEI) plus successfully opened several new stores including a trial vanguard concept. Also involved in several projects, eg working cross functionally to draw up Xmas strategy and the store manager wheel.

Had full P&L accountability for 40 stores across North London & Essex, with a £140m turnover and circa 1400 employees - until the company sadly fell into administration pre Xmas 08Previously increased the profitability by over £1.3m of a tough East London area(including flagship stores like Beckton & Lakeside), largely through a robust succession plan (recognised across the estate) & full colleague engagement - which was also reflected in strong viewpoint (two way comms), customer service results & a green scorecard

Full responsibility for 60 SE stores & a turnover in excess of £170m, we made a huge impact on profitability through strong leadership within the management team

Worked within many different environments - from Littlewoods across the UK to running some of the toughest stores in London - & rose up the ranks, largely through huge desire & a strong leadership style
