The Harley Street Area Partnership Business Improvement District (BID) has identified four key aspirations for improvement within the BID parameters: public realm, place-making, and way-finding; national & international marketing; business sustainability & connectivity; and safety and business resilience. As public realm manager, I shall be working collaboratively on behalf of the BID Board and management team with businesses, residents, community groups & partners and a comprehensive array of stakeholders to ensure sustainable investment and tangible benefits for the future of the BID area and everyone involved. There are immense but exciting challenges ahead with the opportunity to create a sustainable future as a comprehensive part of the jigsaw puzzle of business improvement districts across the capital.

At this organisation I delivered an opportunity to young people and adults for gaining nationally and internationally recognised qualifications with the prospect of progressing to further study, higher education, employment, and starting their business venture, while learning in a unique and supportive environment. This included supporting candidates that led, developed, and managed the development and delivery of high quality, cost effective curricula to achieve the organisation's strategic and operational goals in the curriculum area.My key contributions:• Appointed as Head of School (Garden Design) in January 2019 and promoted to combine two Schools for developing a curriculum programme across five campuses training new professionals.• Directed the re-defining two struggling Schools of study to 21st century, professional relevance for students, staff and industry.• Leveraged skills for future developing labour markets and directed master-planning exercises for input to update campus operations.

In this role, I led the project from the conclusion of the development phase through to contract completion within budgetary and contractual controls for identifying outcomes pre-determined within the contract form. I project managed a multi-disciplinary team to perform to the highest professional standards by interacting closely with multiple stakeholders to better identify needs for change and intervention in a much-loved and valued Grade 1 listed heritage public space. The multi-disciplinary professional team comprised heritage architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, specialist contractors, community groups, and stake holding funders. Regular open and transparent reporting back to Royal Parks Board of Trustees and CEO, the National Lottery Heritage Fund investors and wider stakeholder groups on programming and progress.My key contributions:• Directed £6.2M publicly funded investment programme into a much-valued public open space; completed programme within the agreed budget and timeframe, resulting in attaining a national award.• Delivered functional support to secure private funding from external sponsors to meet £500K target set by HLF.• Ensured approvals for future cemetery operations, business plan and investment with Westminster diocese to aid Friends group.• Encouraged investment from local businesses (including Chelsea Football Club) within the development programme.• Leveraged a 21st century approach for public engagement to better understand and interpret the history, heritage, present and future of the cemetery.• Re-developed long-standing partnerships, such as The Commonwealth War Graves Commission, The Chelsea Hospital, The Horse Guards, and the Royal Parks Guild for future engagement and investment purposes.• Initiated sustainable community opportunities for alternative functions across the cemetery to allow for greater all-year-round access, such as restoring the chapel, colonnades, and other listed heritage assets.
