Management (Validation): I was responsible for the validation of new law degree programmes and periodic review of existing programmes, ensuring that documentation complied with University quality standards. In doing this I liaised with the programme leaders, marketing, business finance and library areas. I also sat on the committee for SQE integration. Management (Assessments): I was responsible for the assessments process in the Law Faculty, chairing the Board of Examiners and managing the process of internal scrutiny, external examiner approval and marking. I dealt with any student issues on assessments, liaising with the support departments as appropriate. Teaching: I was module leader for Contract Law, taking lectures and seminars and undertaking all module administration. I also delivered seminars in Land Law.

Management: I managed the Law Faculty, having six lecturers reporting to me. Amongst my duties I interviewed prospective lecturers, negotiated lecturers’ contracts, acted as admissions tutor, liaised with marketing (including drafting of some marketing material), undertook school visits and acted for the Law Faculty at the open days and law “taster” days. I also liaised with the student support department in dealing with student issues and assisted the HR manager in dealing with staff employment issues. Validation: I devised and planned the transition from ULIP law degrees to validated NCH law degrees, creating the programme structures, overseeing the law faculty’s involvement and providing content for the validation documentation, programme specifications and many module specifications. Teaching: I was module leader for Contract Law, Land Law and Employment Law on the LLB course (preparing students for ULIP), providing lectures, seminars and tutorials and setting mock examinations.
