I am supporting the roll out of a multi million pound new ordering system for JL staff at its contact centres in Didsbury and Hamilton, as well as two third party sites in Plymouth and Exeter. My brief is to apply a creative approach to agile learning, producing learning and support content using words, video, info-graphics and scripts for roadshows. It also entails demonstrating the new user interface to staff and supporting them throughout its introduction.

I also liaised with and supported other in-house journalists, and kept my Regional Editor abreast of trends, polls and comments. Worked as part of a team overseeing the integration of MEN Media's 23 weekly titles throughout Greater Manchester, North Cheshire and East Lancashire into the Manchester Evening News following the closure of all the company's district offices. The project encompassed newspaper production, managing change, strategic planning, industrial relations, reorganisation of subbing resource, coaching and day-to-day general management. Strategically planned and launched Channel M News, a daily news service exclusively for and about Greater Manchester. The station began by broadcasting a once-a-day, 30-minute pre-recorded news show. This soon progressed to a live 30-minute broadcast at 5pm, which was then expanded into a two-hour rolling news programme between 5 and 7pm.Within months of going live at 5, a live 60-minute show was added to the schedule at 9pm. I arrived in Belfast to edit one of the oldest daily newspapers in the UK during a period of calm following the Good Friday agreement and with the brief of bringing a more mainstream feel to what was the voice of Northern Ireland’s Protestant community. Convinced then owners Trinity Mirror to invest in the title by increasing staff numbers and pagination.
