I also liaised with and supported other in-house journalists, and kept my Regional Editor abreast of trends, polls and comments. I was voted best newcomer in the annual JL Chronicle awards of 2014 and best example of democratic engagement for my coverage of workers’ councils locally and nationally in 2015.Before joining the JL Chronicle, I was a customer support advisor at JL’s contact centre in Didsbury from September 2011 until June 2013. This soon progressed to a live 30-minute broadcast at 5pm, which was then expanded into a two-hour rolling news programme between 5 and 7pm.Within months of going live at 5, a live 60-minute show was added to the schedule at 9pm. Improved the paper’s appearance by working closely with the production department on design and brought a better content structure to the paper by working with the newsdesk.Arrested a circulation decline for a short time. The role came to a premature end when TM sold its Northern Ireland papers to a private equity firm, which brought in its own management team. Show less
