With a budget of circa £3.5M the Project was part of the overall £40M Portman Merger programme delivering £90M of savings for Nationwide, managing the delivery of 3rd Party Bank inbound Payments system changes, encompassing multiple work streams under fixed timescales driven by commercial requirements. All work streams delivered January 1st 2009 as expected. Managing a virtual team of 60 full/part time staff and outsourcing partners. Accountable for all aspects of delivery, implementation planning, project planning, stakeholder reviews, and budgetary updates From March 2009, moved onto managing a Small Change Project, delivering Mortgage system changes with tight timescales. The Project was set up to facilitate delivery of small business enhancements needed to retain market share in challenging market conditions. Delivering changes within an aggregated release window across multiple Mortgage systems including Online Bank, the Project delivered its first release in July 2009 as planned. Currently working towards a second release in November 2009.

Project ManagerBarclays Bank 1986 - 2005KnutsfordWorked within a major Infrastructure Renewal Programme to deliver Managed LAN and Category 6 structured cabling. This element of the Programme was out-sourced to IBM, delivered Cisco Managed LAN and Cat 6 specification cabling works to sites within an aggressive timescale, in order to meet equipment deployment deadlines and Barclays’ requirements – Budget in 2003/4 circa £7M (Total 43000 Ports across 2515 LAN switches in 1621 sites in 2003/4). Worked cross functionally both within Barclays and 3rd Party Suppliers – managing BT Global Services, 4 regional Data Contractors and Security Companies with ultimate accountability to Barclays Senior Management and Stakeholders. Proposed and documented a revised migration approach (discussed and agreed with BT Global Services, Cabling Contractors and Systems Integrators) which delivered external cost savings in excess of £342k. Produced and maintained Cost models for cost comparison/value based management purposes. Delivered other potential cost savings of £147k through applying common-sense approach to change requirements/monitoring of cost. Managed a direct team of people, assigning tasks and priorities, Performance Development assessment and coaching. Devised and implemented Capacity planning of WAN bandwidth demand, resulting in circa 1400 site upgrades. Gained sanction/budget from senior management/stakeholders and managed ordering/progress processes to completion. Consultant to other Projects in respect of end to end Technical Architecture of new systems and applications Designed, ordered and built Test & Build infrastructure environments at Barclays, IBM and Getronics sites. Managed the installation and build/roll out of 500+ PC’s to 20+ sites on behalf of Business Banking. Completed on schedule and within budget.
