I'm leading the technical development of the prototype Smart Weed Alert Tool (SWAT) as part of CreativeHQ's GovTech programme. In this role, I'm working as a volunteer for the Department of Conservation (DOC).

CAMS GIS provides a Weed App that actively manages environmental weeds. As well as working with the core team to deliver the ArcGIS Weed App, Nigel is responsible for having designed and delivered:1) The iNaturalist - CAMS integration. This is a key component of the CAMS GIS suite, which updates the CAMS features with relevant new and updated observations (Python, Behave, ArcGIS API, pyinaturalist API, GitHub Actions). See https://github.com/EcoNet-NZ/inaturalist-to-cams for further details.2) Flows to update weed feature data when related data is created or updated (Power Automate, ArcGIS webhooks)3) I'm also developing a new UI to improve the experience and uptake of updating iNaturalist observations with the current weed status (VueJS, PrimeVue, Azure static web app, Python Azure function app, iNaturalist authorisation code flow OAuth2)
