Our product, Arrivedo (www.arrivedo.com) aims to change how travel content is produced and consumed. Our innovative iPad-based kiosk and content platform empowers hotels and travel writers to serve travelers with fresh, map-based travel writing.- Rallied founding team to come together on a common product vision. Steered team towards concrete company-level Objective and Key Results- Designed user survey and conducted end user interviews- Drove product from concept to launch. Fleshed out product requirements. Designed system architecture, SQL and NoSQL data model, RESTful API, Firebase data model- Managed product development effort, using Agile methodologies to ensure rapid delivery of product features, for the iOS app and the web app- Established test framework and continuous delivery system to ensure quality of product- Used cutting-edge reactive programming paradigm to simplify architecture, using RethinkDB, node.js and Firebase- Hands-on backend and web frontend development and deployment. A spin-off of a Google X research project, Flux Factory aims to re-imagine building design software for the Architecture, Engineering & Construction Industry.- Product: Interfaced with the industry to understand their software needs. Did extensive research on BIM and IFC. Learned Rhino/Grasshopper. Attempted to influence product direction- Engineering: Developed the backend API in the language Go. Developed specification for a visual programming language. Built a Go SWIG wrapper for OpenStudio, an energy modeling software

As part of the Admob acquisition, joined the Mobile Display Ads team. Responsible for the Mobile Ads Mediation product, with which app publishers use to maximize their ad revenue.- Delivered the Ads Mediation product, leading a team of web, iOS, Android, backend and analytics engineers. Defined project timelines and coordinated resources, working closely with Product Management. Ensured public API document correctness with Developer Relations. Hands-on coding on the iOS SDK- Integrated AdMob with Google’s Ads Settings Panel to bring the AdMob product in line with privacy best practices

At AdMob I was responsible for building a wide variety of things: a consumer-facing product, back end services, a data analytics product, the iOS SDK, and an ads mediation product- Took initiative to construct a system for discovering data for new phones and mobile carriers. Build data analysis pipelines in Hadoop. Visualized data in a webapp built with Ruby on Rails. Eliminated the need for paid 3rd party data. For this, won a founders award- Contributed to WURFL, an open source database of mobile phone capabilities.- Responsible for reducing publisher fraud. Built system to flag suspicious activities for further review by the customer service team. At one point, reduced fraudulent activities by upwards of $20,000 a week- Launched analytics.admob.com from initial concept in less than 7 months. Designed and created the data gathering API endpoint and analytics pipeline in Hadoop, a Big Data framework, working closely with a team of talented frontend and backend engineers- Led the re-launch of AdWhirl, an ad mediation tool, from an acquisition. Rewritten the iOS SDK, coordinating with a backend engineer- Adopted the AdMob iOS Ads SDK for the iPad before it was generally available- Sped up device information lookup by 10x, reduced lookup time from 50ms to 5ms. Implemented a novel trie-based algorithm in PHP using APC. Contributed to major reduction of ad serving time- As my first project, build TapTap, a pre-iPhone mobile webapp where users can download mobile content, using Ruby on Rails

- Adapted Yahoo! content for early web-capable phones (pre-iPhone), by building and maintaining a mobile web gateway and various supporting services such as a device capability repository and mobile carrier detection- Developed mobile web apps including News, RSS Reader, Address Book, Calendar, games.

Built an optimization to the offline files feature of Windows 2000.
