I assist the in-house acquisitions team of the American University in Cairo Press seek new publications in Egyptian archaeology and Egyptology.

Trustee of Eastbridge Hospital and the Franciscan Gardens. Eastbridge Hospital was founded around 1180 as a resting place for poor pilgrims visiting the shrine of Thomas Becket and the rooms where the pilgrims slept, ate, and prayed are still preserved. The Franciscan Gardens include the remains of the grey friars priory and the area where the first Franciscan monks built their first church on an island in 1224 on the order of St. Francis of Assisi.

I am continuing to write books and articles on Egyptian archaeology and ancient Egyptian history. My recent books include the successful and well-received 'Abu Simbel and the Nubian Temples' and 'Ancient Egyptian Jewelry'. 'A short guide to Abu Simbel' will appear soon in several languages. ‘Ancient Egypt: A Photographic History’ will be published in May 2024 in the UK and in July 2024 in the US.

Publisher of the Nature Research Journals ((in New York): Nature Genetics, Nature Medicine, Nature Immunology, Nature Neuroscience, Nature Biotechnology; and (in London) Nature Cell Biology).

Responsible for new product development at Cell and the integration of London-based Journals (including Current Biology).

Latterly, responsible for Strategic Planning for the global publishing organization of Elsevier reporting to MD and heavily involved in acquisitions (e.g. Biomednet and Current Science journals). Previously, Publisher of biological sciences program (biochemistry, microbiology, molecular biology) in Amsterdam. Launched innovative web-based community services in bioinformatics and cancer genetics. Publisher of the Amsterdam-based medical journal and book program.
