A strong Finance sector IT manager / general manager with a solid track record of managing large global teams. Until end 2017 I was an Executive Director at UBS, the Swiss bank and world’s largest wealth manager. As a segment head in the Finance IT management team I was accountable for UBS’ Enterprise Global General Ledgers. I managed 400+ people globally with a programme portfolio change budget to match. At the start of 2018 I moved to become company director at Grail Adventures Ltd, a new sustainability consultancy where I set up systems and processes across Operations, IT and Finance.Over the years I can count very few ‘great’ managers, but plenty who were average and some utterly dismal and out of their depth. I’m sure we can all relate to that. I asked myself what made the difference? Sure, all managers care about achieving deliveries but I concluded that what made the great managers was that they genuinely cared about, inspired and invested in their people. Naturally, having a motivated team who trusted and respected their manager meant successful deliveries and satisfied clients and of course FUN!You know the saying, ‘if you want something doing, give it to a busy person’? Unfortunately, I can’t offer full time support, but I can provide hands-on help and assistance to an already overloaded manager on a part time basis (60%). I can cover the key management administrative tasks, so they know that piece is covered off and can get on with being a great manager.
