Upon achieving my CFP designation and Life License for this role, I have been incorporating Life Insurance into my existing knowledge of Wealth Management and have found this to have been very rewarding experience to further allow me to provide clients with quality investment advice, stewardship, and now protection of their investments.As a Certified Financial Planner, I helped our clients make beneficial and calculated financial decisions so that they could prosper going into their financial futures. I achieved this by completing regular client updates on wealth and insurance products, while also identifying and presenting key aspects of their plan to be enhanced or altered for their gain. In this role I am supporting members from numerous branches including Waterloo, New Hamburg, and Kitchener. In this fast-paced position I worked as an estimator & project coordinator on builder and retail jobs. Within seven months I was in charge of a reoccurring customer whom had multiple housing projects being developed. I communicated with multiple contacts to price the flooring in these houses, managed installers, and resolved issues as they arose. My work was crucial in these jobs coming in at appropriate pricing and with clear communication among all the parties involved. With retail work specifically, I was estimating, quoting, and winning jobs that were competitively priced and accurately measured. I created relationships with customers that had them very satisfied with our work and often bringing us multiple referrals, increasing our sales.I actively volunteered in company-growth and advancement meetings. In these meetings I worked to identify problem areas and where improvements can be made. This ranged from contributing ideas that lead to the company becoming more effective in customer service and scheduling to helping co-workers find the most effective sales procedures for themselves. In this position I was the lead employee in managing the progress of machined parts for a key customer. I was in charge of more that 50 types of machined parts that were being manufactured for this customer and tracked and managed the progress on each of them. I was able to supply the company with quantifiable feedback on when actions were occurring and was able to calculate the ETA of every product on my roster. I was able to influence other employees to improve productivity by empowering them to address small issues with quick and confident decisions while I was identifying crucial and time-sensitive issues and negotiating them with peers and my superiors to provide the best productivity possible for all of our projects.

For the past year my time has been spent working or the University of Wilfrid Laurier as a Residence Life Don. Working here was a great opportunity for me to exercise people management and also balancing personal success while being responsible for thirty students. Partway throughout the year I stepped into the role of Community Advisor as another employee stepped down. With this position I took over a council of students who's focus was on creating larger scale programming for the entire residence. My duties included utilizing proficient time management skills, common sense and leadership in order to make sure the residence was accommodating for the students while still being able to make sure my own floor’s needs were met. Often times this included event planning on a small scale (5-10 people) or on a large scale (up to 120 people) as part of a team/council. In this position I was awarded the Team Choice Award in the Fall for my Residence and also the Team Player of the Year Award for my Residence.
