I am the CRO of QBE International, based in London. As part of my role I am on the Executive Management Board and am a director of QBE European Operations Plc, QBE UK Limited, QBE Underwriting Limited, the managing agent for syndicates 2999 and 386, and QBE Corporate Limited. I am responsible for overseeing Risk and Compliance in the UK, Europe and our Asian operations (HK, Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam). Before moving into the CRO role I was the Finance Director at QBE responsible for Financial Accounting and Reporting, including Financial Operations. Prior to QBE, I was the UK CFO at Aspen Insurance, where I was on the Board of Aspen Insurance UK Limited (the UK insurance platform, writing inwards reinsurance and London Market insurance business) and Aspen Managing Agency Limited (the agent for syndicate 4711, the wholly aligned synidicate, writing international insurance business).As part of my role I am an approved person under SMCR in the UK. I am the senior nominated person at Lloyd’s for our syndicate operations. Prior to joining Aspen I was an audit partner at PwC in the Insurance & Investment Management division where I gained experience in dealing with senior executives and non-executives, understanding their needs and providing high quality assurance over financial reporting, controls and regulatory issues.
