With web application specialists and Sharesies co-founders Martyn Smith and Richard Clark, we are Opcode, a web application consultancy which has built a number of applications for government, SMEs and startups in NZ and internationally.We specialise in particular in providing development, operations or CTO capability to organisations with holes in these areas. This applies both to startups and more established companies. In the long term, we view it as beneficial for companies to eventually employ people to cover the work we do, but during the time you have a gap, we can provide a serious boost in capability without the risk of making a poor hiring choice.We also build bespoke web applications on a project basis, as contractors with no integration into the businesses commissioning the work. We have built numerous critical applications for Transpower, the manager of New Zealand's electricity grid, and most recently built an application to manage New Zealand's maritime broadcast.

Application design, development and operations for the Doctor Care Anywhere platform. DCA provides people with the ability to have appointments with GMC-registered UK doctors via video chat through the browser.My role included the design and build of their backend system and web frontend. This has encompassed system operations and maintenance on multiple cloud providers, API development, Python, React and WebRTC coding, requirements analysis, incident response, continuous deployment, and working with third party support services.

Web Application consultancy, building a number of applications for startups in NZ and internationally.

Have built, and assisted building, numerous web applications for Buzzumi, a video services provider in the Health sector. These apps are largely centred around audio/video chat, wrapped in custom workflows. Have also been heavily involved in building various tools to automate/streamline processes such as deployment of code and bug tracking. Buzzumi successfully exited to Doctor Care Anywhere and F1000 Research in January 2014.

Lead developer of the Mahara e-portfolio system from 2007 to 2009, among numerous other public and internal projects.
