My background is in computer storage hardware, software and the discipline of storage management, having worked in this area for nearly 38 years. During this time, I have gained skills and experience in solution design, consultancy, project management and programme management.I have worked closely with major companies mainly in the finance and insurance sectors in the UK and Europe.I spent two years working at IBM's Almaden Research Centre in San Jose, California where I liaised closely with IBM storage development leading projects to produce more than ten IBM redbooks and three education courses.My last role for IBM was in technical support management with an enablement role for the IBM storage brand across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In this role, I completed assignments in such diverse areas as technical communications, setting up and leading a business continuity project office, setting up and leading a pan-European community of practice for business partner technical support, implementing Siebel service request management and skills management and development.I now work for Barclays Bank as the Global Head of Mainframe Storage based at Radbroke Hall in Knutsford. I am responsible for the mainframe storage infrastructure for Barclays in the UK and Africa. In my spare time, I have started a part-time MSc in Computing at Edge Hill University near Ormskirk.Specialties: Storage management, storage performance, storage solution design.DFSMS and z/OS, including implementation experience.Technical writing, course development and delivery.Programme management, quality assurance.

I worked with many of IBM UK's largest customers including banks, insurance, retail and manufacturing companies.I was the IBM representative for the storage working group of the GSE user group, regularly presenting at meetings and GSE conferences in the UK and abroad.I started and led a project to develop and roll out a range of storage management service offerings which ultimately led to millions of pounds of services revenue, world-wide acceptance and code which formed the basis of IBM licensed software products.Latterly, I did new product introduction, skills transfer and second-level support of IBM storage software, including the technical introduction of ADSM (now known as Tivoli Storage Manager) in the UK.
