Managed a multi-discipline team of engineers (process safety, process, control and DCS), plus quality manager and team, HSE coach and technical clerks. Accountable for technical safety management and for optimising, developing, and providing process support to the Polyolefins units. Represented the Polyolefins assets with the regulatory authorities, (HSE, SEPA and Falkirk Council) for COMAH, PPC, Hazardous Substances Consent, Pressure Systems, etc. Managed the asset capability reviews to ensure performance improvements in HSE, availability, cost, volume and products, and developed short to long term plans. Implemented these plans through the capital programme for the assets and was accountable for the completion of the feasibility and conceptual studies, the commercial analysis and supporting the execution of all the jobs. Worked closely with the site’s engineering providers (Jacobs and Foster Wheeler) to enable efficient delivery of the projects and to ensure the Ineos capital value process, i.e. decision support packages, value improvement processes, risk reviews, peer reviews, etc, was applied effectively to all projects.
