At what point in a persons life is it too late to start fulfilling their potential? That was a question I asked myself as I approached my thirtieth birthday, and as far as I am concerned the answer is never. But I am pragmatic enough to know that realistically the answer to this question depends on two overriding factors.Firstly I believe that all things begin with the individual and how much hard work and commitment they are willing to invest in their journey; I have invested seven years into an Open University degree and worked extremely hard, whilst in full time employment and raising a family, to achieve an upper second class degree in Humanities; a feat in itself which is testament to the dedicated values that underlie my character. The broad base of research, essay writing and critical and analytical thinking that I have developed during the course of my studies has provided me with a foundation that can be adapted and transferred into many different areas of employment. With a nuanced and informed grasp of the written and spoken word, my major attributes are my abilities to think creatively in terms of problem solving and to understand, organise and analyse large amounts of information with a detailed and critical eye in order to prove or disprove theories and hypotheses.The second of the overriding factors that I speak of belongs with the reader of this profile and the gamble that you believe you would have to be willing to take to give me an opportunity... But please understand this; it is not a gamble if you are betting on a sure thing, and I have invested too much into a journey that is only just beginning to turn back now. With twenty years of work experience in many different areas of industry I have developed a highly versatile can do attitude to my working endeavours and my ingrained approach towards continuous improvement will make me a valuable addition to any team.
