I was the sole Founder and CEO at Whirli, a subscription based sharing economy for toys and other children's goods. By borrowing through Whirli instead of buying, parents were getting far better value for money and less clutter at home, whilst reducing landfill waste.I took Whirli from just a concept to over 10,000 paying households (~£2.5m ARR, growing 100-150% YoY) who loved the service (Trustpilot NPS +88%, monthly churn ~5%). Whirli was one of the largest consumer sharing economies in the UK, with over £1m of assets circulating between customers (equivalent to over 75,000 items).I built and managed a talented team of 65 full time employees across head office and distribution centre. We were investing to build the leading sharing economy brand with a vision that spanned geographies and category verticals. Our vision targeted a market opportunity of ~$100-150bn household expenditures, within which we aimed to be a >$1bn ARR venture by 2030. Whirli's latest venture raise was a £4.2m Seed Round led by Octopus Ventures in December 2020. Unfortunately our £15m Series A raise collapsed very unexpectedly at the last second in April 2022 and the business was then sold in June 2022.

I joined McKinsey's London Office as a graduate business analyst in October 2012 and became an Associate Partner (Junior Partner) in January 2017. At the time, I was one of the youngest Associate Partners at the firm and I was progressing along an extremely fast track.While at McKinsey I advised Senior Executives at international/national retailers, CPG companies, and other consumer businesses on topics including strategy, marketing & sales, operations, and digital/e-Commerce. More broadly, I also worked with organisations in other sectors (e.g., Financial Institutions, Travel/Logistics) on strategic topics such as Corporate / Portfolio Strategy and Growth Strategy. Across my client service I built a very strong and broad generalist skillset, and was particularly known for financial and commercial analysis. I was also passionate about our people and 'Firm building'. In my time, I was a core recruiter and master interviewer for graduates and Associates. I led the faculty for several training programmes, including financial modelling for all analysts, training for all upcoming Engagement Managers, and the welcome/induction training for all new joiners to the London Office. In February 2018 I decided to leave McKinsey in order to pursue an entrepreneurial passion and to found my own venture.
