Consultant - Voluntary Employee BenefitsMarsh Uk Ltd Feb 2000 - Feb 2002I provided consultancy services to Marsh - specialising in supplier management for voluntary employee benefits. The role was varied, reviewing current suppliers, analysing customer satisfaction at Marsh call centres and submitting tenders to major PLCs. Part of the role was negotiating contract arrangements with product suppliers. From previous experience, I was able to select the best products and terms for our clients. We also initiated a review of the activities within the voluntary employee benefit's department to ensure compliance against the General Insurance Standard Council's rules and legal requirements. -
Health ManagerRoyal&Sunalliance 1995 - 1999Whilst at Royal & Sun Alliance, I was instrumental in designing, pricing and launching the product "Values", voted Most Innovative New Product by The Health Insurance Awards. My responsibilities included, health underwriting for a wide range of individual, corporate and voluntary schemes. Along side this I provided strategic input for new product development and pricing. Whilst looking at new and innovative products, I also designed a trend analysis system to measure and track key performance and pricing variables improving forecasting and pricing. -
Commercial Development ManagerPpp 1983 - 1994Whilst at PPP, I developed and maintained pricing and product development strategies and tactics, directing business development and ensuring profitable growth. Income grew from £91m to £461m, underwriting profit increased from £3.1m to £25m and membership rose from 1m to 2.2m. We continuously reviewed and evaluated product development which generated new product ideas and tracked customer feedback. Part of managing the introduction of products, we secured tax relief by negotiating with the Inland Revenue to maximise customer value.One of the significant projects included the development of the UK’s first 24 hour medical information help-line as an added value service (in conjunction with an external supplier). The PPP help-line handled 400 calls per day in first year.
