Nigel is a psychotherapist and executive coach with a busy international private practice. He is schooled in the tradition of existential and gestalt theory which gives therapy and/or coaching a kind of eastern philosophical feel - generating greater awareness through listening/discussion and blending this with immediate, practical and grounded challenges and experiments that involve the whole person, their embodied self, relational self and inner personal world. Many executives today have a personal coach who helps them unblock the obstacles that might otherwise limit their progression towards any business goals. The starting point of this process is to have a "chemistry" session to discover how the coach and executive get on and then to take it forward if the relationship feels right. The coach's role will be to help the executive discover what they don't already know about themself and help reveal what they already know but in a different way. This holds the promise of accelerated growth and awareness towards their business and often personal goals too.For his psychotherapy clients, this is complemented by training in hypnotherapy, NLP, EMDR and BLAST to work with individuals who suffer the long term impact of traumatic experiences. Nigel has all also been engaged as an Associate Therapist at Khiron Clinics, a private residential clinic, using the latest thinking in Sensorimotor and Somatic approaches in response to individuals living with trauma.Nigel has over twenty years in the corporate world and is very aware of the technical and commercial challenges of that arena. As a once sceptical client himself, Nigel recognises the limitations in the typical therapeutic model that can be off-putting to some. His research on men changing career in midlife has been published by the peer reviewed journal 'Self and Society'. Nigel is grounded in a results driven background which informs his practice and shapes his work to be more collaborative and supportive of those individuals who 'don't do therapy' or cannot see how it can help. Nigel supervised at a Maidenhead counselling charity as well as at Bucks Mind. He was also a trustee in a Reading based counselling agency.
