I work in a Senior Management Team with strategic responsibility to develop academic partnerships (multiple forms of TNE), enhance the global cultural capital of students, internationalise the curriculum, support international students to fulfill their potential and recruit a diverse body of well-qualified students to the School’s undergraduate and postgraduate courses. My work adds value for students by working with colleagues across a diverse School to provide opportunities for our students to secure internationally-accredited qualifications, strengthen their professional and intercultural competencies, raise their aspirations and view their profession from a global perspective.I continue to advocate for the intelligent use of location in the study of environmental problems and formulation of solutions to those problems. I offer more than two decades of experience in research and technical development in geoimaging and geoinformatics and provide expertise on the design and creation of interoperable geoinformation services.I am also an educator in GIS and Earth observation by remote sensing with more than 13 years practice in distance learning / e-learning.Specialties: International and multidisciplinary research in the environmental and social sciences.Image processing for the analysis of land cover dynamics; remote sensing of drylands. GIS for regeneration, development and disaster risk reduction.Multidisciplinary fieldwork in the UK, Europe, China, west and southern Africa. Educator in UK, Europe, Australia and South Africa.Curriculum and course development, including e-learning.In-service training and continuous professional development.
