Proving product market fit of a growth-stage beverage company that supplies innovative Caribbean-inspired drink mixers to North America and the Caribbean.➤ Founded beverage company. Inaugural product was influenced by a secret family recipe from Trinidad & Tobago; combined names of daughters in naming the company “Zurena.” ➤ Defined unique value propositions with early adopters and built-out the value chain to compete with major incumbents in a fragmented, price sensitive industry. Secured seven new distribution relationships in North America and the Caribbean within three years.➤ Executed a geo-targeted strategy of selling into major anchor accounts in key markets to prove product-market fit, including Spec’s, Levy Restaurants and TJX Canada. ➤ Hired and managed three full-time employees. AARP Innovation Labs -Facilitated the discovery, equity investment, solution refinement, and growth of disruptive age-tech solutions to empower people to choose how they live as they age, directing an environment for collaboration with the startup ecosystem, academia, and other experts to shape and create new solutions. A few accomplishments included:• Operations: Initiated first AARP innovation lab – The Hatchery – with high-performing team and unique culture; awarded Technical.ly Best New Collaborative Workspace in 2017.• Collaborations: Fostered effective relationships with three key accelerators to source and de-risk disruptive age-tech global start-ups. • Innovation: Designed and implemented a “sandbox” platform where iLab solutions are shaped to address emerging health and wealth needs of diverse consumers in varied environments.• Consultation: Coached startups on strategy, innovation and organizational readiness. • Brand Equity: Evangelized the longevity opportunity to startups and other influencers at major conferences and events including The United Nations, Japan’s Aging Well conference, CES, Brussels Economic Forum, Silicon Valley Boomer Summit, Dreamit Ventures, and more.
