The ALM Data Mart is populated from 70 disparate Lloyds data systems and receives 60,000,000 rows daily.The UMD contains reference data that controls the update of the ALM Data Mart from the source systems.The models use logical domains to define the data types, to ensure data type and naming consistency across all attributes.– Developed an automated process that generates the physical data models and full table creation scripts from the logical data models, building on the facilities provided by the modelling tools.– Owned the data models when the system moved to BAU, controlling and implementing all required changes so that the logical data models continued to reflect the live database structure.– Specified and developed a Microsoft Access-based tool that allows Lloyds business staff to maintain the UMD content, via both manual data entry and import from text files and spreadsheets. The tool provides full data validation and data integrity protection.
