As a committed Master's student in Biomedical and Health Science at Monash University, I am deeply driven to make impactful contributions to biomedical research and healthcare. My academic interests gravitate towards the intricate interplay of immunology in disease pathology, particularly explored in units covering cardiovascular health, neuroscience, and infectious diseases.My academic journey has been enriched by experiences across various organizations in diverse countries. In India, my undergraduate studies allowed me to major in three distinct biological sciences: biochemistry, microbiology, and chemistry. Building on this foundation, my postgraduate studies at Monash University sharpened critical thinking, research design, statistical analysis, and data interpretation skills, while fostering strong interpersonal communication and public speaking abilities.My Master's thesis project delved into the microenvironment of endometriotic peritoneal fluid, providing hands-on experience in clinical studies and thus, laying a robust groundwork for my career in biomedical science. I am passionate about contributing to fields that merit greater attention. Complementarily, an upcoming internship at the National Ageing Research Institute presents an opportunity to utilize my skills as a science communicator. Completed a Master's dissertation on endometriosis and role of immune cells in its pathology.Tasks performed:- Biological sample processing for cell isolation (e.g. peripheral blood, peritoneal fluid)- Full-spectrum flow cytometry (Cytek Aurora) and FlowJo data analysis- Cell culturing of immortalised human cell lines (particularly, Jurkat T-lymphocytes and THP-1 monocytes)- Extensive practice of common laboratory techniques such as ELISA and qRT-PCRPresented our findings at multiple conferences including the Ritchie Centre Colloquium, Australian Society of Medical Research (ASMR) and Biomed-Link.

Research Student
Conducted my BSc. Final Year Project at the HMWSSB lab facility in Manikonda, Hyderabad. The project involved the investigation of fluoride levels in drinking water sources in and around the GHMC area, due to potential links with skeletal and dental fluorosis incidences in rural areas. The outcomes of this project revealed higher levels of fluoride in the drinking water sources from the Nalgonda area, however still within the acceptable limits. We also found that the use of cheap alumina beads could safely absorb and remove the excess fluoride present in the water source, which is an accessible method of fluoride removal for poorer families living in rural areas without access to an RO water filtration system.
