I believe in the greater good and that if more decision makers knew better they would do better for the people they serve. But knowing how to do better takes work. Throughout my professional journey, I’ve worked to uncover the next step for us all to live in a more ideal world. So much is lost in translation or through bureaucracy and ideology. I try to remove the confusion by focusing on action. What tangible, meaningful, and impactful actions can people take in their day-to-day roles to get to better outcomes? My goal is to live equity out loud by educating different audiences and building bridges of understanding. I get juice from being at the grassroots level, helping people develop excitement for well-thought-out programs with the potential for real, positive change for those most affected. It is no accident that I am engaged in the work I do today. I have been in training and practice my entire life and like to say that I’ve done my 10,000 hours, twice. I am able to help organizations and individuals: Identify what needs to be done; assess where they are; and facilitate a roadmap for where they need to go, all while ensuring there is an authentic commitment to equity and justice.
