Currently we are developing sensor and data technologies to:1) Optimise cleaning processes (CIP and factory floor)2) Detect allergens in production environments3) Monitor quality parameters of crops using multi-sensor fusion4) Monitor production processes such as mixing, extrusion and fermentation5) Online monitoring of food texture

I worked on a variety of projects using ultrasound and passive acoustics to characterise and monitor commercial products and industrials systems.I have work with large multinationals such as Nestle and P&G and have performed consultancy work for companies in the cosmetics, pharmaceutical and oil industries.In addition to the experimental acoustic work I have been developing a low cost versatile acoustic microscope.I also have active research interests in computational modelling, in particular techniques such as Discrete element and finite element modelling.
