Started out playing Violin at age 4 and a half also started guitar etc in bands at 12 yrs of age acting at school with an appearance in Nationwide in 79’ as Scotland’s representative on Nationwide for International Year of the Child , started training in Martial Arts at 6 yrs of age and found the Togakure Ryu at around 12 yrs of age. When in London at 16 after getting of the streets got into the London Academy of Performing Arts to train as an Actor among other things performed as a musician sporadically at the time and still do. Started working in theatre etc in 89’ when leaving college and returning to Scotland. Moved to Hull with my ex wife and formed the original Monkey Lives Joe and put in a charity event called the East Park Lark and made a radio appearance to promote the Charity event. Then moved to Los Angeles and worked as a plumber by day and played in a band named M pact at nights. Did a couple of little acting things there but couldn’t get a green card so back to Scotland where after plumbing again for a while started working in Television and Film and appeared among others in Still Game and The Sword and the Cross and many more things. Now in Larbert where I had been involved in risingEDGE.tv writing reviews and filming bands for an online music promotions magazine continue to record music as Monkey Loves Joe and still hoping for a half decent break but as all the arts are part of my martial arts I do it for the live and not the fame.
