About Nikelene Mclean, Ph.D.

I am a scientist with keen interest in remote sensing technology and applications that enable environmental monitoring, the characterization of species distribution patterns and predictive modeling. Given the utility of observational monitoring in supporting climate adaptation and mitigation, I also work to promote the use of remotely sensed data and tools in marine and coastal decision making on local, regional and international scales. I believe that sound science, strategic partnerships and earnest stakeholder engagement can help support the sustainable use of environmental resources and the development of equitable management strategies on a global scale.
