Infographic design, imaging, layout, visual contributor liaison for a national magazine. Responsibilities included all aspects of visual design, both internally for the magazine and to assist advertising clients.Working with diverse stakeholders ranging from academia, non-profit foundations and grass-roots environmental organizations, I was instrumental in helping visually enhance the publication by bringing professional-level design and image-editing capabilities in-house.Copywriting was a large component of my responsibilities, from heds and deks to campaigns and infographic copy – even a full-length article. My piece, "Fully Destructible"​ was picked up for reprint internationally in the prestigious UTNE Reader, the "Reader's Digest" of alternative press, in their Spring 2015 issue.I also was responsible for technical diagram and infographic design, from research to execution, including reworking content from the print publication for online use.

Lead creative on internal and client design projects, collaborating to create engaging experiences for corporate and non-profit clients.Duties included visual design, customer engagement, creative development for both business-to-consumer and business-to-business websites with a focus on corporate and non-profit sectors.Content creation responsibilities also included development of storyboards and directing promotional animations and videos for clients, produced both in-house and in collaboration with external vendors.When I started working at rtraction it was a small, web-development company without any in-house creative. I worked to help transition the company to a digital ad agency model – at a time when ad agencies were hiring designers it was fair play to bring creative services to a coding-only shop.In my tenure, the president credits my involvement as instrumental in transitioning rtraction from an unbranded service provider to a branded, well-positioned, full-service agency, currently one of the industry leaders in Southwestern Ontario.Clients included: Linamar/Skyjack, Ecopower, Ontario Universities International, GDI, WorkCabin, Robarts Research Institute, ReForest London

In my time there, a major re-branding I helped develop for Fanshawe Pioneer Village was instrumental in doubling attendance numbers in the first year. The visual branding was retained until recently and the redesigned logo and key messaging are still in use.Clients included: Bank of Montreal, Bridgestone/Firestone, Boehringer-Ingelheim Vetmedica, Spectrum Brands (formerly nugro), Dejong, The Grand Theatre, SFBC (formerly Danapharm Clinical Research) and Fanshawe Pioneer Village.

I worked closely with the late Professor Keith Humphrey and Prof. Mel Goodale at the Visual Motor Research Group on designing stimuli and implementing experimental protocols for research into visual illusions and visual motor psychology, including early fMRI studies into object recognition and shape from shading illusions.Part of this work involved the creation and maintenance of thousand-object-plus databases of visual stimuli, to specific parameters, controlling for multiple variables.
