Fashion and retail are an important aspect in every stage of our lives, similar to how each stage of the product lifecycle is equally important.One of my core childhood memories growing up in the Midwest was when my mom would take us to Old Navy to purchase our back-to-school outfits. Trendy... I know, right? They had an exciting promotion that made going back to school both cost effective for caretakers and memorable for the kids. Upon entering the store, the associate would hand each person a large navy shopping bag. However much you could fit into the bag would be one set sale price at the checkout, the more you could fit, the better the deal! Those outfits we purchased went on to help create countless childhood memories, many of them captured in photographs that will forever be looked back on and remembered.I knew from a young age that I had a passion for fashion and retail, I could walk through stores and instantly tell whether I liked or disliked something, whether it was seasonally appropriate, or whether the quality was worth the price. I would even come up with creative ways to elevate the product to make it more saleable.To this day, I find myself with the same passion and excitement for the fashion industry. With my experience in retail buying, coupled with my education in fashion design, I have developed skills that have proven to be important in all aspects of the product lifecycle. My strength is understanding what the customers' needs are and coming up with creative ways to design, produce and sell at the right price for both the buyer and the seller. One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is to come in every day and be challenged. I love how each day brings new tasks that require a new level of critical thinking and creativity.
