About Niki Hunt, Pta

Looking back, it is easy to recognize that I have always been interested in how the human body moves and functions. In high school, I enjoyed just about every sport, especially field hockey, softball, and swimming. In college, I was fascinated by coursework like anatomy, physiology, and medical anthropology. As an adult, I found a new passion: power yoga. So, it is only natural that, after years in the role of stay-at-home mom and household “CEO,” I decided to pursue a new career in physical therapy.As a Student Physical Therapist Assistant, I found myself drawn to the study of biomechanics and functional movement patterns, specifically in relation to physical dysfunction and neurological disorder. I learned the important relationships between flexibility, stability, strength, and mobility, as well as how the interconnections of the body affect nearly everything. In my clinical settings, I loved getting to know my patients and finding ways to connect on a personal level. I strived to convey that I am willing to do whatever it takes to help meet individual goals… and there is nothing better than seeing that happen! Now, as a licensed PTA with Hartz Physical Therapy, I enjoy working with a fabulous team of clinicians, whose specialties include geriatric rehab, neurological rehab, vestibular rehab, post-surgical rehab, aquatic therapy, as well as general strengthening and conditioning protocols. I am constantly learning and building my skills, while helping patients improve in quality of life. It really is the best career in the world!
