My research is focused on developing reliable autopilots for fully autonomous Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) at Vehicle Autonomy and Intelligence Lab (VAIL) at The University of Tulsa in conjunction with NASA Armstrong Research Center.Lead Researcher at Vehicle Autonomy and Intelligence Lab (VAIL):- Designed and built reliable multi-rotor aircraft (quad and octa copters) test platforms for indoor navigation.- System Identification and Verification and Validation (V&V) of aircraft models.- Developed a simulation environment using Matlab-Simulink, Arducopter, and Unity platforms for software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop experiments.- Developed a localization server software; fusing multiple motion capture camera inputs using EKF, and transmitting it to target aircrafts.- Developed a control framework for flight control systems (FCS) to improve robustness and fault-tolerance of the aircraft. (patent pending)- Developed Multi Vehicle Collaboration using object detection, ad-hoc communication, and finite state machine. These tasks involve programming in C++, C#, Python, and Matlab. Requires certain knowledge of Math, Modern Control Theory, Artificial Intelligence, and aerospace engineering.

Designed, built, and deployed an end-to-end ML system for real-time object detection in Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).

As the Chief Technology Officer of a startup company, I had many roles, including:- Lead a team of 4 that its primary job was to get high volume core banking (financial transaction) data from ORACLE databases or transaction files, to cleanse that data, transform, and load it to our databases, to apply custom-developed data mining tools on those data, and finally to generate results in form of routine reports and send them to our customers. To provide this service for our customers our team.- Created a system using C# and Matlab to semi-automate the whole process of the company’s reporting service which reduced the time of generating a report to 1/4 of its original time. - Developed an ETL application to get Very Large Size financial transaction data from ORACLE database or FTP servers, to cleanse the data, and to convert it to a proper format for analysis software using C++, and SSIS. - Contributed in developing a Data Analyzer software using MATLAB named CoreMiner to analyze, detect, and predict different aspects of financial transaction behaviors. - Directed team of 6 programmers responsible for developing, testing, and deploying the company’s software written in C#, Matlab, html, java script, and SQL. - Managed operation and maintenance of the company’s software at the customer’s local network. During this time, Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) improved from 4 days to 60 days and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) reduced from 2 hours to 15 minutes.- Obtained ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) certificate from IT Governance, UK.

- Developed a vision-based soccer-playing humanoid robot using C++ on CMUCAM 3. The robot was able to detect the ball, goal, and other players and could walk, stand up, and kick; This robot was utilized for training university students who planned to start learning humanoid robotics. - Built a Multi-Agent system using Java on JADE platform which simulates a virtual market, enabling researchers to design desired buy/sell scenarios, set numbers of the agents, and analyze the effects on the market.- Teaching Robotics and Linux.
