A Speech And Language Therapist currently working at Te Mahau. Graduated from the University of Otago in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts double majoring in psychology and linguistics. Graduated from the University of Canterbury with a Master of Speech Language Pathology in 2019. In the final year of my masters, I completed a research paper on Neurogenic Stuttering which I was fortunate enough to present at the ASHA conference in Orlando, Florida in 2019. At Te Mahau we work closely with families, whānau, caregivers, schools and early childhood educators in English and Māori settings and other agencies to help maximise learning outcomes and promote social inclusion through improving communication abilities. Working as part of a trans-disciplinary team to improve the lives of children with complex needs; apply for funding; setting up and running speech and fluency groups for both preschool and primary school aged children; advocating for our clients. Always open to learning new skills that will help me improve and develop my abilities as a Speech Language Therapist.
