About Nikita Smith

I have been working in the BPO industry for the last five years, where I have progressed through the roles and discovered my passion for project management whilst working in the Niche campaign at WNS. As the Niche Team Leader I managed 22 agents across 7 campaigns including Sea Harvest, Findus, Quorn, Phillip Morris, PayU, TERACO and PEARSON. This campaigns main purpose is to be the launching pad for all small campaigns to showcase the effectiveness of customer care and gain further business for the company. The PEARSON campaign is one of my biggest success stories which started as a pilot campaign in August 2014, I was involved with the setup of the campaign from start to finish meeting with stakeholders to ensure that all their needs were met by the launch day. Due to the success of the initial launch we had three more phases which doubled our head count in less than two months and has made way for more departments with a potential of 200 seats.  Although my experience is very limited I am committed to self-learning and increasing my skill set by studying through UCT, where I have already completed my NQF5 Project Management Foundations course and NQF8 Advanced Project Management course passing both with distinctions.  What I have learnt through my studies is that although experience is vital determination and common sense is key as I proved to both my course coach and lecturer by producing results ahead of my class for each module without the needed experience for the advanced course and completing a full project plan using a skeleton IT project that I acquired from Astute.
