Nikita has a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Houston and a Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine. She is British, Indian, and American and grew up bilingual speaking English and Gujarati. She is a former basketball player and martial artist with a first-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and Hap Ki Do which she trained for locally in Seabrook, Texas. Nikita’s PT training has been heavily influenced by the teachings of physiotherapy pioneers such as Paris, Cyriax, Kaltenborn, Maitland, McKenzie, and Sahrmann which helps her take a well-rounded approach to optimize her patient-care experience. As part of her clinical internship, she has worked in Queensland, Australia where she learned about novel treatment techniques and the latest in pain science. Nikita is currently pursuing rigorous didactic and practical coursework to become a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (AAOMPT) for advanced differential diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of neuro-musculoskeletal conditions. She likes to include Kinesiotaping, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM), and manual therapy in her treatment toolbox. Even though Nikita loves treating all body regions, she especially loves treating conditions stemming from the spine.
