• The project, commissioned by Rare Dementia Support and led by the UCL Centre for Translation Studies, involved translating medical information leaflets and support materials from English into several European.
• Medical translation: translated 3 medical information leaflets on rare dementia types totalling 4,000 words (English into Russian).
• Attention to detail: edited and reviewed 4,000 words of other translators' work, verified the translations’ compliance with the client-set standards.
• Terminology management: conducted comprehensive background/terminology research of the source texts and prepared a shared specialist EN>RU glossary containing 47 terms.
• Organisation: balanced the responsibilities of the 3-month long extracurricular project with academic studies and the December-January coursework period.
• Teamwork: formed part of a 3-strong Russian translators’ team, supervised by a project manager, collaborating and resolving translation and terminology issues, allowing to finalise the project.
