Success to me is defined by challenges and meeting them head-on. It doesn’t matter if it’swhile I’m working out, painting at home, or managing production at work; self-improvement & self-development are always at the forefront. That’s one of the reasons why I enjoy working in a production manager role.That might seem like a little bit of a leap but stick with me.I deal with a lot of people, the whole of formulation department really, from overseeing production ofproducts to liaising with different departments and managing employees. Being able toeffectively communicate and manage such a varied role, and incredibly varied people, is butone skill that this position has taught me. I’ve learned to use my mind in whole new ways tolearn, excel and conquer any challenge thrown at me. Perhaps it started in my early dayswhen I first started out as a laboratory technician here at Xyfil. It certainly upscaled once Iworked my way up to production manager, but the ability to keep progressing andimproving is really what sets this role apart for me. There’s a lot of pressure within such arole but carbon doesn’t become a diamond without it.Since taking up position as production manager I’ve not only helped increase efficiencywithin production with system modifications, but also implementation of procedures thathave marked improved profits, customer satisfaction as well as increased revenue growth. Ittook some time to put everything into place, hours of research, co-ordinating withdepartments and testing. But when it was all said and done, that, really was a good day fornot only Xyfil but me. I didn’t stop there though, there’s always room for improvement. Ihelped implement ISO:9001 Quality Management Systems, worked closely with the MD andEngineers to invest in new lab facilities plus R&D laboratory design, not to mention my own projects fornew product developments in CBD manufacture and Nicotine Salicylate Salt synthesis.There’s never been a dark day for me. How can it when you honestly enjoy and thrive at thejob you do?
