Nikita holds an MSc in Biodiversity Wildlife and Ecosystem Health from the University of Edinburgh and a BA in Marine Affairs & Policy from the University of Miami.A climate justice activist and leader in driving the development of a sustainable blue economy in The Bahamas, Nikita is dedicated to driving climate action and social justice for those from marginalised and vulnerable communities. Nikita believes that planet earth is our home, nature is the lifeline for future generations, and that It is up to us, to show up, take pride and ownership in the ecosystems and communities that support us, and remember that when we invest in what sustains us, we thrive. Nikita is a 2020 Bahamas National Trust Conservation Champion, the 2015 Bahamas Icon Award Winner for Youth Development, a former zoological Society of London EDGE Fellow, and a recipient of numerous awards and scholarships. Nikita is a PADI Open Water Dive Instructor, Cave Diver, Atlantic Gulf Rapid Reef Assessment Benthic Trainer, Artist, Educator, and Luxury Estate Agent.The following are some of Nikita's achievements:-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of YME Bahamas (Young Marine Explorers & the Cat Island Conservation Institute) an NGO working to build climate-resilient coastal communities and driving the development of an Ocean Science based knowledge economy in The Bahamas-Story Teller, utilising art as a healing modality to address complex topics such as colonial wounding and inspire progressive change.
