Nik was invited by Tore Dietrich from High Impact Television to be one of the reporters of the NBC Sports auto show specials. Nik will be a reporter on three hour-long shows produced for NBC Sports. The New York auto show, Pebble Beach and the Los Angles auto show.

Nik had decided he wanted to get into television so he cashed in his pension fund and purchased a television camera and a television broadcast edit suite. Nik spent a year teaching himself how to shoot and edit television. Nik wanted to turn his love of cars into a television broadcast show. With demo tape in hand Nick headed to local broadcasting station WB 32. Local marketing manager John Clark was so impressed with Nik's tape that he hired him as a part-time television producer without any experience. Nick worked his way up the ranks to finally become a Creative Services Manager for Tribune broadcasting. During his time with Tribune Nik hosted a number of Portland iconic shows including Outlook Portland, Portland Now, Portland Cooks, Northwest Cooks, The Fuel Show, Milesaround, The Ride Show and Portland's Morning News. Because of Nik skill and understanding of automotive media The Ride Show was picked up by WGN and a number of other Tribune broadcasting stations. Nik was instrumental in the creation of Portland's Morning News and a number of other Tribune wide initiatives. Nik's responsibilities as Creative Services Manager included all digital media public relations, marketing, program production, commercial production and the production of all on air and digital media.

Nik hosted and produced a number of award winning shows for Entercom. Bill and Daria, Gustav and Daria and Marconi. Nik was responsible for Talent management, Marketing and production. He also managed group productions for Entercom in Portland and Seattle. Nik became a favorite and local celebrity of the radio community and still partakes in a weekly podcast which has 10,000 downloads per episode

When Nik was four years old he was traveling in the back seat of his grandfather's car going across Europe when his grandfather fell asleep at the wheel and ran into a tree. It took several hours but Nik's grandfather eventually died and of course that left a lasting impression on Nik. Nik had always wanted to be there for his grandfather but since it was too late he decided to become a Paramedic for a number of years where he might have the opportunity to save the lives of others. Nik started work at AMR as a Part Time EMT Basic in 1994. Nik graduated to Paramedic in 1996 and during his time working in the Portland 911 system Nik was awarded to medals from the State of Oregon for his service.

Nik was hired from the class room by Kink Program Director Denis Constantine. Denis was so impressed by Nik on a visit to MHCC Broadcasting class that he asked him to come and see him at the Radio station. Nik began work at Kink the following week. Nik was originally hired part time as a fill in on air host. Within a few months Denis hired Nik full time to take the Overnight Position. During his time in overnights Nik developed a relationship with now movie writer Mike Rich (Finding Forrester) and legendary morning show host Les Sarnoff. Nik began helping Les produce the morning show unofficially during his overnight shift. It wasn't long before less went to Dennis and are stacked Nick moved into a full-time morning show position. Nik, Mike and Les began the journey as what was to become one of Portland's most well-known morning show teams.

Nik was hired by K103 program director Bill Minkler after he heard one of Nik's college radio demo tapes. Bill felt Nik had a special and warm personality and hired him initially as a fill-in overnight disc jockey. It wasn't long before Bill moved Nik to weekends when Nik did the weekend morning show and entertained the K-103 listeners. Nik would work overnight as a paramedic for 911 and then get off of his shift and head to K103 to do the morning show.
